1967 Christmas
1967 Christmas. Christmas in Raleigh with the Suby's was a great and busy time. But there is one thing that needs to be recorded. As most parents know, Christmas Eve is always busy especially after the children are put to bed. Well on this particular night all of the kids were very excited about Christmas morning. I, using my better judgment, realizing that the parents still had a lot to do and would be tired, therefore issued this command to the children. "They could not get up until they could see the ground." They went to bed and we went about our jobs. We sat in front of the fire until about 2 am. Then went to bed expecting a good night's sleep. Well as you can imagine, my decision backfired. It seems that the children decided that they would not go to the bathroom before bed because they would then wake up at an earlier hour. At 3 am there were loud cries and they came racing into our bedroom to wake us up. It was then that I realized that there was a full moon and they were able to see the ground. As you can well imagine, the kids were happy and the adults were dragging.
